About David..

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a certified sexual addiction therapist-candidate (CSAT-Candidate.) I am also a committed Christian. My approach is to create a warm, relaxed atmosphere with an emphasis on building a strong collaborative therapeutic relationship. I believe that a strong client/counselor relationship is an important element in the counseling process. As a Christian, I believe that faith and a personal relationship with God is an incredible source of strength, comfort and guidance. As a counselor, I work to combine faith and standard, evidenced-based treatment modalities in accordance with each client's needs and beliefs. I am experienced in working with both teens and adults encountering various life altering issues. This includes areas such as: Sexual and chemical Addiction, ADHD, ADD, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, stress management, co-dependency and sexual/physical/emotional abuse. I have completed the EMDR basic training course for use in trauma related issues. I also have experience in working with families and couples that have been impacted by these issues. I am a disabled veteran who is visually impaired. As such, I believe I bring a unique understanding and sense of compassion and empathy for people who are dealing with difficult and sometimes traumatic life altering situations.
